Lilli&Tom at the Valley Markets

The Valley Markets are held every Saturday in the Brunswick Street Mall, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Posted by Picasa

Lined with cafes, the vibrant stalls through the centre of the outdoor mall feature creative fashions and accessories by local designers. Around noon muscians groove under the rotunda. Posted by Picasa

Tom looks through the free street press magazine Tsunami. Posted by Picasa

And Lilli was fortunate enough to snag the latest MAP magazine. The best free Brisbane mag she thinks. Posted by Picasa

Just like everyone else, a day at the Valley Markets is a chance to take part in the urban culture of Brisbane: coffee, magazine and the laid-back bussling of a weekending sunburnt people. Posted by Picasa

Lilli&Tom: Picnic at Shorncliffe

Shorncliffe is a beautiful bayside suburb of Brisbane - a little green pocket tucked away on a small headland. A place where Brahmi Kites fish and glide the cliffs of rushing air, and where Rainbow Lorikeets nest and play in the giant Gums and hundred-year-old Moreton Bay Figs. Posted by Picasa

Looking out over Moreton Bay with its ever changing moods, is Moreton Island - standing out from its greenery are the great white sand dunes, gleaming to even the most distant eye. Posted by Picasa

Great ships slip around its coast, on their way to unload a precious burden at Fisherman's Island, on the broad mouth of the Brisbane River. Yes, we like it here. Posted by Picasa

If you walk along Shorncliffe Pier (also known as Sandgate Pier) a long view of the Glass House Mountains stretches to the north. You can watch the Sandgate foreshore cycle its board-walk all the way to Brighton and the Hornibrook Bridge. Looking onwards, far away shining rooftops of Redcliffe mount and retire out of view. Posted by Picasa

If it's windy, sit very quitely on a seat and turn your ear into the wind. Close your eyes. Let the volume in, let it beat and feel, this energetic element close and comfortable. Disappear in meditation with the wind. Try it in the morning or when the pink and blue sunset lingers past diner time. Posted by Picasa

When the clouds press upon the sky the grey footprints of a giant land, and the sun swings her golden head from view, how pleasant it is to share this time away with you. Posted by Picasa

A little picnic on the beach; coffee, buscuits and two dollars worth of chips has made a lovely day to remember. Posted by Picasa

Refreshing air through the hair, has blown away those clinging concerns that crowd the electric rooms of our modern world. Posted by Picasa
